Government basic basket – find out how to access the benefit

Initially, after the Covid-19 pandemic, many people ended up in a financial crisis, leaving them worse off than before. The number of people with low income who cannot support themselves was growing. In this sense, the Federal Government stipulated the Basic Basket Aid.

In this sense, we can say that the Basic Food Basket Aid changes the lives of thousands of Brazilians every day. Without a doubt, this aid was one of the best solutions for those who needed financial help at such a difficult time.

How does Basic Basket Aid work?

Firstly, the Basic Basket Aid is intended for some people selected according to the Federal Government. Another important point to comment is that this benefit is only intended for some cities, such as SP, PE, MG, CE and RJ.

Furthermore, the payment of the aid amount varies between each city and may be greater than R$200 or less. Furthermore, this payment is made via a food card for all those who benefit from this benefit. Find out below how it works in each state.

SP Basic Basket Aid

Certainly, the São Paulo government announced the distribution of 50 R$100 food cards to vulnerable families in the state.

• The benefit can be used directly in supermarkets in SP to purchase food, fruits, vegetables and greens.
• The families covered are those with the greatest social vulnerability, according to the Single Registry (CadÚnico) of social benefits.
• Currently, the state government distributes about two million basic food baskets monthly to vulnerable families.
• In the month in which they receive the card, the 50 thousand families will not receive the closed physical basket, informed the secretariat.
• The cards will be used exclusively for the purchase of food and basic necessities, with the purchase of alcoholic beverages and tobacco products being prohibited.

In addition to other states, for the State of Rio de Janeiro and Niterói, the amount paid will be R$500.

• Families that are not in CadÚnico and have children enrolled in the municipal network receive an additional installment of R$ 500.
• Families with enrolled children began to receive a basic food basket in Niterói from September (until the end of the school year).
• Active Search beneficiaries will also receive assistance for another two months.
• MEIs, taxi drivers and registered in the Citizen Company Program will have the last installment in July.

MG Basic Basket Aid

Furthermore, people in social vulnerability will have the right to redeem basic food baskets in supermarkets in BH. In total, the city hall reports that 240 basic food baskets and 57 hygiene kits will be distributed.

• The consultation of those who are entitled to the benefit must be done online, through the City Hall portal.
• On the website, the person – using the first name and CPF of the person responsible for registering or licensing informal activities – can find out where to retrieve food and products, according to the scale defined by the city hall.

Who can receive the Basic Basket Aid?

Firstly, the Basic Basket Aid will be implemented by the Secretariat of Social Protection, Justice, Citizenship, Women and Human Rights (SPS). The following will be covered by the food card:

• motorcycle taxi drivers;
• taxi drivers;
• buggies;
• tour guides;
• street vendors and stallholders;
• application drivers;
• traffic documentary dispatchers;
• alternative and school transportation workers.

Who cannot receive Basic Basket Aid?

However, we also have to highlight and clearly highlight those who do not have access to this benefit. Below is the list, see:

• Are holders of social security or assistance benefits;
• Are receiving unemployment insurance;
• Are receiving a federal income transfer program, with the exception of Emergency Aid and the Bolsa Família Program;
• Hold a position, job or public function in any sphere of government;
• Have received Financial Aid to Unemployed Professionals in the Bar, Restaurant and Related Sector.

Priorities in case of excess demand

In this sense, according to the Government of the State of Ceará, the State is only able to serve up to 150 thousand people in this program.

Therefore, if this number is exceeded, priority criteria come into force:

• Solo mother or father;
• Have minor sons or daughters of school age attending a regular educational institution;
• Disabled person;
• Be 60 years of age or older;
• Quilombola, indigenous or gypsy;
• Have more time working in the sector of activity.

How to register for Basic Basket Aid

Furthermore, to register for the basic food basket assistance program, the interested party needs to access the website of the Secretary of Social Protection, Justice, Citizenship, Women and Human Rights.

It will be directed to a registration table and it will be necessary to fill in all the requested information in addition to attaching documents such as:

• ID;
• Proof of address;
• Work Card Sheets;
• documents that prove the exercise of professional activity.

Finally, once the registration process has been completed, the state will evaluate the data and publish the list of eligible beneficiaries.
